Migrating video files onto Video Center
You can migrate your existing videos from your legacy system onto Arc XP’s Video Center platform. If you have a Customer Enablement (CE) contract in place, the CE Team can assist with the migration.
However, note that Arc XP charges for the video files that require re-encoding onto Video Center (including mezzanine-only imports).
Progressive MP4s and HLS MPEG-2 do not require re-encoding, and Arc XP does not charge for these specific file types.
How video migration works
During import, Video Center evaluates the streams
object in the provided ANS structure.
- Video Center attempts to import and store each stream it finds (and each MP4).
- The largest MP4 file in the
streams
object is treated as the source video.
You can upload multiple encodings for a given video (import the whole ladder).
You must set the query parameter encode=true
flag when you want Video Center to encode and create a new adaptive-bitrate stream ladder for your imported source video.
